Up at 4.30. I have been awake since 1am worrying about the\nd… keys. At the airport I looking for the check-in desk, I couldn\u2019t find my\nphone which now has everything as I decided to not carry paper. I was\ndevastated. At the desk we had to provide details about our flight to Brisbane.\nI tried the Qantas web but Hilary doesn\u2019t have her FFlyer number. I was ready\nto go home. Then I remembered the pc. So there we were at the check-in waiting\nfor the pc to load a PDF and eventually we were through. Droped Hilary\u2019s wheels\nat the oversize – and the phone appeared in the wrong pocket!!!
\nI was exhausted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There was more drama to follow. We were at the gate to board when I noticed the camera on a strap around my neck was missing. I ran back to the waiting area but wondered as I ran whether I had put it in a bag after weighing. Yes I had. What a trip. Too many \u201cthings\u201c to check. 4 bags, the push frame wrapped in plastic, camera, Hilary\u2019s hand bag, pouch with passport, pen and now the phone. Ah well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tokyo has two airports, Haneda within the city boundaries,\nand Narita 90 kilometres to the east. Unfortunately for us, most international\nflights fly from\/to Narita, so we arrived at 4pm, too late to get to our hotel\nnear Mt Fuji, a 180km 3hr bus ride. But I had booked Narita Airport Rest House\nclose to Terminal 1 with a free bus. It also has a restaurant but we were fed\nwell on the plane.
